Dallas Regional 2018

On March 1st- 4th, the Robowranglers competed in the 2018 Dallas Regional.  By going 9-0 in qualifying rounds the Robowranglers entered the elimination tournament as the #1 seeded team. Choosing teams 118 The Robonauts and 2789 Texplosion, they continued their undefeated streak throughout the finals and emerged as Event Champions. This is the eighth Dallas Robotics Championship Greenville has won in the ten years since the event was created.

Colorado Regional 2018

On March 21- 24th, the Robowranglers took their first ever trip to the Colorado Regional for their second regional competition of 2018. The qualification matches quickly turned into a back and forth three-team battle for the top seed. Ultimately team 148 seeded #2 but were then selected first overall in the alliance draft by team 1619 Up-A-Creek Robotics.  Completing the #1 alliance was team 5414, Pearadox visiting from Pearland, TX. The alliance fought hard through the elimination rounds finishing as Tournament Finalists.

Awards Won

Team 148 was Rank 2 with a record of 14-3-0 and won the following awards:

2018 FIRST Championship- Houston

On April 18th- 21st Team 148 competed in the 2018 FRC Championship event in Houston. After a hard fought week in their subdivision, team 148 was chosen to be a part of the #1 seeded alliance by Team 254, The Cheesy Poofs, from San Jose, California. Rounding out the alliance was; Team 2976, Spartabots, from Sammamish, Washington; and Team 3075, Ha-Dream Team, from Hod-Ha'Sharon, HaMerkaz, Israel. Together they won the Hopper subdivision and moved on to the Einstein matches. After two decisive final match victories under the lights of Houston’s Minute Maid Park, Team 148 brought home the gold, marking their 3rd Championship victory!
